Donegal complaints to Garda Ombudsman almost double in 2020

THE number of complaints made to the Garda Ombudsman from Donegal almost doubled in 20120.

GSCO has confirmed that it received a total of 105 complaints from Donegal last year.

That figure is up from 57 in 2019.

Nationally, there were 1,955 complaints made to GSCO, up 11 per cent from 2019.

Road policing matters were the cause of the most common complaints, accounting for 16 per cent of the total calls made.

Garda conduct and customer service each accounted for 13 per cent of complaints lodged.
