When it comes to a great day of shopping, Letterkenny has so much to offer.
Donegal Woman teamed up with ShopLK last week to showcase all the great things and the great value you’ll find when you shop local.
The good news is that you can WIN everything I bought and all the experiences that I enjoyed.
The prize, worth approx €350, includes makeup, perfume, clothing, jewellery, homeware and vouchers for a manicure, a lunch and ice-cream!

Here’s where I went, and all that I got for one lucky person to win!
Michael Murphy Sports & Leisure
Michael Murphy Sports is all stocked up for an exciting summer of sport.
The new ladies sportswear has so much colour from Under Armour, Adidas and JOMA. Plus, they have all the jerseys you need for Championship season. They have great choice in footwear too, and something for any activity, colour and budget. You’ll find a vibrant range of ASICS, New Balance, Brooks and more great brands here.
My Top Pick: Women’s Donegal Training Jersey.
The beautiful dresses in Zone caught my eye in Letterkenny Shopping Centre! The boutique has so many midi summer dresses that are perfect for casual or more dressed up looks. Florals and bright patterns are the trend of the season, which I love. You’ll find great value at Zone.
My Top Pick: A floral tea-length Estee Brown dress. It’s one-size and elasticated, so it’s very floaty and comfortable.
McFadden’s Pharmacies are a one-stop shop for health essentials, beauty and gifts.
I called into the Shopping Centre branch to find tan, makeup and perfume from all the top brands. They have brands such as Bellamianta, He-Shi, SoSu, LMD and BPerfect. For makeup fans looking for the latest palettes, it’s well worth a look at what McFaddens has to offer.
New summer fragrances include the Hugo Boss Alive, Calvin Klein Eternity Summer and they have all the popular favourites from brands such as Marc Jacobs and Gucci.
My Top Picks: The BPerfect Jac Jossa Glow Goddess Palette and Calvin Klein Eternity Summer for Women.
The House of Beauty
The House of Beauty on the High Road is one of Letterkenny’s most well-established salons, now 25 years in business, and always evolving.
I visited owner Tracey Johnston Wilson for a gel manicure and really enjoyed the relaxing break from all the shopping.
Tracey’s business story is amazing, and I loved hearing how she developed House of Beauty into one of Letterkenny’s leading salons, offering advanced skincare and beauty treatments. You can see their full treatment list here: thehouseofbeauty.ie/treatments
Above all, the team provides individual care and tailored treatments for every guest.
House of Beauty are stockists of the hugely popular IMAGE skincare (with 20% off offers in June!) and you can purchase all their premium brands online at thehouseofbeauty.ie/shop
My Top Pick: A Shellac gel manicure
McCallion’s Jewellers, another very well-established local name, has all the jewellery and gifts you need for special occasions. The range and value is fantastic, with stunning necklaces and watches catching my eye.
There are two stores – one in the Courtyard Shopping Centre and at Crossview House.
McCallion’s are diamond, engagement and wedding ring specialists of Letterkenny, and that’s not all. They have gifts to treasure, including Holy Communion and Confirmation collections.
My Top Pick: A Missguided Watch with gold look mesh strap
Honeypot Coffee House
Lunchtime was at Honeypot on the High Road. They have a pretty summer garden set up for outdoor dining and a brand new menu. The amazing pancakes are still there, you’ll be glad to know!
The Honeypot is always such a friendly cafe to visit. It’s so great to see them back open with a creative outdoor space. Don’t forget to make a reservation.
WIN: A lunch voucher for two at the Honeypot: https://www.instagram.com/p/CQjKzSgLXmx/
The McGinley’s Furniture showroom is a real feast of colour and styles.
Located in the Joe Bonnar Business Park, McGinley’s has fantastic offers on top quality suites, beds and kitchen furniture. They have very stylish decor and statement pieces too.
Every customer gets a personal shopping experience at McGinley’s and they offer free delivery across Donegal, Derry and Tyrone.
My Top Pick: A glitzy grey table/bedside lamp

Tobins Ice Station
If you love ice-cream, Tobins is a must-visit. Inside the store on Port Road you’ll find the new Ice Station, where dreamy desserts are created. They have a huge menu of sundaes and milkshakes, with endless flavours and toppings to choose from. The outdoor pods are a fun place to sit and enjoy your sweet treats.
If you haven’t tried Ice Station yet, go on and treat yourself. It’s a sweet way to round of a day of shopping!
