Another famous Daniel O’Donnell landmark is to go under the hammer at a knockdown price.

The world-famous singer bought the Viking House Hotel in Kincasslagh in his native Donegal in 1993.

It soon became a mecca for fans from around the world hoping to have a chat with the singing sensation.

Daniel’s gold and silver discs were hung in the walls of the hotel as well as many pictures and Daniel often did stop by to greet fans when he was home.

The 14 bedroom hotel, which was run by Daniel’s sister Kathleen and her husband John Doogan, was eventually sold by Daniel in 2001.

The hotel was bought by the Carey family from the Midlands who continued to run a very successful business.

Still a popular destination, the hotel has been put on the market once again at a knockdown price-guide of €450,000.

The sale of the Viking House Hotel comes just weeks after another of Daniel’s previous mansions was put on the market.

Donegal Shore House was sold by Daniel for a cool €3million to Irish Psychics Live boss Tom Higgins in 2008 just before the economic crash.

However, the eight-bedroom home is now back on the market for just €1 million.

The house has numerous reception rooms as well as rolling gardens and its own jetty nestling on the Atlantic Ocean.

Sitting on almost a two acre site, it also has a summer house and detached three-car garage as well as twin paved cliff-top seating area and stretches to almost 9,700 square feet.
