Man dies following fall from cliffs in Sligo

A man has died after falling from a cliff in Co Sligo this evening.

Members of Donegal’s Mountain Rescue team assisted their colleagues in Sligo as well as the Rescue 118 following the incident.

The man is understood to have fallen 200 feet from the cliffs at Gleniff Horseshoe in North Sligo.

His body was recovered this evening by members of Sligo Mountain Rescue under Annacoona Cliffs.

A second person was rescued at the scene.

The rescued person is believed to be a female Spanish national.
