Donegal Gardai have warned motorists not to leave valuables in cars.

With the weather improving and more people going outdoors, there is an increase in breaks-ins to cars.

A spokesperson said “More people are taking to the great outdoors due to the improving weather so we wish to issue a reminder in relation to car security.”

“Please try to park in a secure location if possible. Always ensure that you have locked your car.

“Do not leave anything worth stealing within sight and do not make the mistake of trying to hide your belongings within the car once you have parked up. You never know who is watching!

“Best to leave all valuables at home!”
