A €10,000 reward is being offered for information in relation to a suspected arson attack on a Glenties garage this morning.

Gardaí confirmed to Donegal Daily they are investigating the ‘suspected criminal damage by fire’ which destroyed five cars and a recovery lorry at the premises on the Glenties to Donegal town road.

“A number of vehicles were damaged during the incident. No arrests have been made at this time. Garda investigations are ongoing,” a garda spokesperson said.

Meanwhile the owner of the garage, Mr Danny Toland, is offering a €10,000 reward to anyone who may have information in relation to the incident.

“A cash reward of  €10,000 euro will be given to anyone who gives me information leading to the person or people that did this,” he said.

“Between 3:00am and 3:30am this morning, five cars and one recovery lorry were set on fire at my shed on the R262 glenties to Donegal town road. Anyone who could possibly have been in the area around that time, please get in contact.”

Mr Toland is also appealing to anyone with CCTV cameras, or dashcam footage, to pass it on to him or Glenties Garda Station.

“Any help leading to finding the person or people involved would be much appreciated,” he concluded.
