A walker has been rescued after an eight-hour operation at Donegal’s Sliabh Liag cliffs.
The person got lost at the popular landmark due to poor visibility caused by fog.
Donegal Mountain Rescue were tasked to find them at 18:49.
The walker was located using a smartphone application called SarLoc. A hill party made their way to the walker, while the remainder of the rescue team was put on standby.
After finding the person and assessing their condition, the hill team set up a storm shelter and provided them with warm drinks, food, and extra clothing.
The person was safely walked off the hill, and assessed by the National Ambulance Service before being assisted by gardaí in getting back to their car.
