The head of the HSE has said that Ireland is facing a bumpy journey against the Delta variant of Covid-19.
CEO Paul Reid shared positive news this morning that community positivity from testing reduced yesterday from 8.4% to 6.7%.
Ireland is in for a “white knuckle ride of vaccines versus Delta but let’s get there”, said Mr Reid.
As of today, 77% of the adult population is partially vaccinated and almost 64% are fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
Vaccine registration is now open for people aged 25-29 who would like to receive an mRNA vaccine (Moderna or Pfizer). 18-34 year olds can also get a Janssen single-dose COVID-19 vaccine in a pharmacy.
