Ireland’s heatwave is set to last well into this week with more sunny days and high temperatures forecast until Friday.
Met Éireann is predicting temperatures to stay in the high 20s all week, with Wednesday and Thursday due to be the hottest at 29C highs.
It will be “uncomfortably warm and humid” at nighttime with temperatures to stay up to 17-19 degrees at night during the week.
There will be plenty of sunshine all week, Met Eireann says, with the only mention of rain coming on Thursday in the south of the country.
Friday is due to bring some rain, the forecaster said: “Warm sunshine for many on Friday but with some scattered showers or thunderstorms possible, especially across Munster where more general rain may push in during the day.”
Met Éireann has issued a high-temperature advisory until midday Friday.
