Restrictions have been lifted on holidaying abroad today.
Non-essential travel is legal again and the government has also lifted its advice against travelling abroad.
Many Irish citizens are choosing to use their EU Digital Covid Certificate to travel within the EU, while others are flying out to be reunited with family.
People travelling to Ireland from countries within the EU, Iceland, Lichtenstein, Norway and Switzerland will not be required to quarantine if they have valid proof of being fully vaccinated, having recovered from Covid-19 or have had a negative PCR test not more than 72 hours prior to arrival.
Those travelling from the UK and US and other countries will not have to quarantine if they can prove they are fully vaccinated or recovered from Covid.
People are being advised to check DFA Travel Advice for their country of destination here: https://www.dfa.ie/travel/travel-advice/coronavirus/general-covid-19-travel-advisory/
