A popular Letterkenny eatery has been forced to temporarily close its doors following a number of positive Covid-19 cases.

Mac’s Deli on the High Road made the announcement on their Facebook page this afternoon.

“Unfortunately, we’ve had to make the decision to close Mac’s Deli until further notice due to positive Covid cases,” stated the owners, Eunan and Rachel McIntyre.

“We have been working closely with public health on advice and guidance, however we have made the decision to close with immediate effect from this afternoon to help stop the possibility of spreading the virus.”

The couple apologised for the inconvenience, however, they said the health and safety of their staff and customers was their primary concern.

They will continue to work with the HSE on reopening, when it’s safe to do so.

“We would like to thank our staff and customers for their help and support during this time. We understand how stressful these times are and if anyone has any questions please don’t be afraid to get in touch. We encourage everyone to continue washing their hands regularly and if you have any symptoms to stay at home and get tested if required.”
