A Donegal man has lost his life in a road traffic collision in Meath.
Patrick Mooney from Ardara, aged in his 60s, died in a single-vehicle crash in Navan on Sunday evening.
News of his tragic death has brought huge shock and sadness to the Brackey area and to Bailieborough in Cavan, where he lived.
Patrick’s wake and funeral are to be held in his hometown of Ardara, with details to be confirmed at a later date.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the fatal collision in Mandistown, Drumconrath, Navan, last evening Sunday at approximately 6.40p.m.
Mr Mooney was the sole occupant of a car which collided with a wall. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to come forward. Any road users who were travelling in the townland of Mandistown this evening and who may have camera footage (including dash cam) is asked to make it available to Gardaí.
