PLANS to construct a new classroom extension at Castletown NS in St Johnston have been approved to proceed to tender.
The news was confined by Minister Charlie McConalogue.
Castletown NS has been approved to tender for a new mainstream classroom and for an assisted user WC.
A planning application was lodged last year with Donegal County Council for proposed works at the two-teacher school.
The planned extension will comprise of an additional classroom, a set room and a new entrance with connection to existing services and all associated site works.
Minister McConalogue said: “This is fantastic news for the St Johnston community, for the staff, students and parents of the school and will add to the capacity of the school.
“I thank Minister Norma Foley for confirming the news, Cllr Gerry Crawford for his work on the school and my colleagues Senator Blaney and Deputy McHugh.”
