Health officials have today confirmed 1,015 new cases of Covid-19 in the Republic.
There are 178 people hospitalised with the virus, including 29 in ICU.
Daily county-by-county figures are no longer released by NPHET, but the latest data shows that Donegal continues to have Ireland’s highest incidence of infection.
The 14-day incidence rate in Donegal stood at 956.1 per 100,000 on 9th July. The national average was 370.6 per 100,000.
On Monday evening, Letterkenny University Hospital recorded 12 patients hospitalised with Covid-19, including 2 in ICU.
Ireland signed an agreement today to purchase almost 700,000 doses of Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine from Romania. Vaccine manufacturer Pfizer is now to confirm the precise dates for the delivery of this additional supply, which is expected to arrive in Ireland this month.
