Fanad beachgoers are being urged to take their rubbish home after another shameful incident of littering.

A large amount of food packaging was found strewn around a bench at Ballyhiernan Beach this morning.

“This isn’t the first time this happened, it’s becoming more frequent absolutely disgusting that people can’t take their rubbish home with them!,” an angered local person told Donegal Daily.

The person took it upon themselves to clean up the rubbish. It took just five minutes, but it’s not the first time they have picked up other people’s rubbish.

This time, among the litter this was an Amazon package with a name and address clearly printed on it, they said.

“If people bring it they need to take it home. We need to keep our beautiful country clean.”
