Optibelt Urethane Belting Ltd in Letterkenny, a member of the Arntz Optibelt Group, is recruiting for a Production Operative.

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

Level 5 (incl Leaving Certificate/ Leaving Certificate Applied/ Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme) OR Engineering qualification

Desirable:

  • Mechanical engineering background
  • Previous employment in a production environment

Job Description & Skills Required:

Working within the manufacturing processes of polyurethane power transmission timing belts. Production processes include precision mould assembly, operating moulding machines to defined tolerances. Product identification marking machines, Belt cutting and wire pulling operations.

Duties & Responsibilites include:

  • Ensure that production requirements and standards are met consistently
  • Operate machinery correctly and maintain it with care
  • Work cooperatively with the production team to meet quotas and goals
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Observe all safety guidelines and report safety concerns to management
  • Follow all written and verbal instructions
  • Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude
  • Able to work shifts and overtime as needed including nights and weekends

Requirements Necessary:

  • Leaving cert qualification
  • Basic mechanical skills
  • 2+ years’ experience working in industrial production is preferred
  • Capable of reading and understanding production documents and safety manuals
  • Basic computer skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Willingness to comply with all safety guidelines at all times
  • Physically capable of manual labour that includes lifting, bending, and reaching
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
