FOUR local areas of Donegal are among the 10 worst-affected in Ireland this week.
Covid-19 case numbers have risen in six of Donegal’s seven electoral areas in the past fortnight, new health data shows.
Carndonagh/North Inishowen’s Covid-19 incidence rate is now five times the national average. With 434 new cases in the area in the past fortnight, the incidence rate is 2558.4 per 100,000.
Buncrana/South Inishowen has Ireland’s sixth highest rate at 1287.7 cases per 100,000.
Letterkenny is eighth and Milford is ninth on the national list.
The only area where case numbers have fallen in Donegal this past fortnight is Milford. There were 134 cases detected among residents in the area in the two weeks up to Monday, down from 136 in the previous fortnight.
