Another 1,866 cases of Covid have been confirmed in Ireland today by the Department of Health.
A total of 331 are now in hospital as a result of having the virus with 61 receiving treatment in intensive care, an increase of five overnight.
Meanwhile the National Public Health Emergency Team has called for 90% of over 16s to be fully vaccinated before a further widespread easing of restrictions, it is understood.
The Health Service Executive has said more than 84% of people aged 16 and over are currently fully vaccinated while 90.3% have received their first dose.
