Covid latest: Another 1,414 cases reported

Another 1,414 cases of Covid has been reported today.

A total of 353 are now in hospital with the virus, up 10 since yesterday with 55 of these in intensive care.

Earlier, the Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC) reported that the 14-day incidence of Covid-19 in Ireland is reducing with the current figure standing at 493 per 100,000 people up to 1 September. Just over a week ago, it was at 532.

New figures also show that 89% of adults aged 18 years and older are now fully vaccinated.

A total of 82% of those aged 12 or over are fully vaccinated.
