It’s results day for Leaving Cert students across Ireland today, with almost 2,000 students in Donegal anticipating their grades.
Results will be released online at 10am on the Candidate Self Service Portal.
This year, students had the option to sit written exams or receive an ‘accredited grade’, or both. If a student sat the examination and opted to receive Accredited Grades, they will be credited with the better of the two results.
In Donegal, 1,943 students opted for accredited grades this year, while 1,689 students sat written papers. A further 153 students in Donegal will receive Leaving Cert Applied grades, with 143 getting accredited grades and 102 awaiting written exam grades.
Schools have been asked to provide support to candidates on the day by allowing them to come to the school if they wish at a scheduled time, in line with Covid-19 policies.
Candidates’ results will be transferred to the CAO to facilitate progression to higher education. The CAO will issue Round 1 offers on 7 September. From 5pm 7 September, students will have access to more detailed information about both sets of results. Candidates will be able to apply to view their examination scripts from 5 pm on 7 September until 8 pm on 8 September.
The National Parent’s Council (Post-Primary) helpline 1800 265 165 will be open from Friday 3 September – Sunday 5 September and from Tuesday 7 September to Friday 10 September from 11am-8pm to provide advice and guidance for candidates and parents. It is staffed by professional guidance counsellors and is supported by the Department of Education.
