Mixed fortunes for Morris brothers in Wicklow

THERE were mixed fortunes for Inishowen mountain bikers Callum and Aaron Morris at the weekend’s Gravity Enduro event held in Carrick, Co Wicklow.

Portal racing’s Aaron (13, pictured above) took a while to get onto his usual race pace that has seen him on the podium twice this year.

Mixed in with a few mechanical issues he was finding it tough going. But after couple of good stages he hauled himself up to 13th out of 30 riders in the under-14 category.

Vitus first tracks race team rider Callum had a relatively trouble free day in the under-17 category, pushing hard finished second and tenth overall against a very strong field.

Next up for the lads is another trip to Carick for the Irish downhill championship at the end of the month.
