Two Donegal villages have been awarded €50,000 funding packages to develop community and sensory gardens, outdoor spaces and allotments.
Bruckless Community Park is set to gain a new sensory space, planting, enhanced seating and eating spaces and a designated outdoor BBQ area.
Ray Community Centre has gained support for the development of a community garden and public allotments.
The funding was announced today by Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys TD under the 2021 CLÁR Programme. This year alone, the scheme has delivered over €5.7 million for projects across the country.
Joe McHugh, TD for Donegal welcomed the allocations and said: “I am pleased to see funding of €100,000 awarded to Donegal as part of CLÁR Measure 3(a) funding.”
“Comhghairdeas mór to all involved in both projects, where this funding will help create more appealling community spaces for families and friends to come together” concluded McHugh.
The Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine and Donegal T.D., Charlie McConalogue also welcomed the confirmation of €100,000 for two Donegal projects under the 2021 CLÁR Programme.
The Minister said: “This is important funding for the Milford and Bruckless communities and is a testament to the hard work of local volunteers and all those involved in the projects including Cllrs Naughton and Blaney”.
