Covid-19: Five Donegal areas among Ireland’s 10 highest rates

Five areas of Donegal are among those with the highest Covid-19 rates in Ireland this week.

The latest HSE data shows that Carndonagh (North Inishowen) has Ireland’s third highest incidence rate at 1.4K per 100,000.

The Buncrana/South Inishowen area has the fourth highest incidence rate, Milford is in fifth, Lifford-Stranorlar is eighth and Glenties has the ninth highest rate.

Every one of Donegal’s seven local electoral areas recorded above-average incidence rates in the past fortnight. However, new case totals are down in five areas.

Milford and Glenties are the only areas that recorded a rise in case numbers in the past two weeks.
