Several Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil TDs could cause the collapse of the Coalition within weeks if Housing Minister Darragh O’Brien does not deliver a “suitable” scheme for families affected by mica.
A senior government source made the claim, according to this morning’s Sunday Independent.
It is understood a number of politicians may consider their positions if owners of crumbling homes in Donegal and Mayo and other counties are not given 100pc redress when Mr O’Brien announces his proposals next month.
“Yes, if those homeowners are not given the full 100pc it could bring down the Government. It’s the worst-case scenario but it cannot be ruled out,” said a source.
