Sadness at passing of respected former nurse, Maura Lynch

East Donegal is mourning the passing of a hugely-respected community member, the late Maura Lynch.

Maura Lynch (née O’Donnell) of St. Johnston and formerly Dooish, Ballybofey, passed away on Tuesday at Letterkenny University Hospital.

Ms Lynch was a retired Public Health Nurse who was very well-known as a caring member of the community.

Her obituary notice reads: “Beloved wife of the late Patrick, much loved mother to Seamus, Alice and Rosaleen, cherished sister of Eileen, Sr. Una and the late John, Katie, Barney, Charles, Jim and Michael. Deeply regretted and very sadly missed by her son, daughters, daughter in law Deirdre, son in law Neil, grandchildren Niamh, Maura, Caoimhe, Conor and Patrick, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

“Funeral leaving her home on Friday, Oct. 1st, at 1.15pm for Requiem Mass in St Baithin’s Church, St. Johnston at 2 pm. Interment afterwards in the adjoining Churchyard.

“In compliance with current HSE and Government guidelines the House, Funeral and Burial will be Private to the family and close friends only please.”
