A Donegal aircraft engineer’s new company has taken off in Limerick.
Gortahork native, Ultan Ferry and business partner, Craig Madigan have launched Altasfit, an online company selling premium personal fitness equipment and positive mental health journals.
10% of all products sold will go to local mental health charities including Limerick Mental Health Services and Jigsaw Ireland.
AtlasFit will also engage with mental health charities across Limerick, providing exercise classes and support.
The Atlas Complete Pack
AtlasFit was founded in June of this year. Both Craig (30) and Ultan (28) have been living in Limerick for the last number of years and are passionate about sport and fitness.
Ultan has worked with the search and rescue helicopter service as a maintenance engineer over the past seven years. He has a background in boxing and has played rugby for Shannon RFC. He has also worked with youth groups and looked after youth activities with school clubs.
Craig has completed a Masters in Sports Performance and is currently undertaking a Masters in Adolescent Studies, focusing on promoting positive mental health in teenagers through exercise.
Ultan said: “As a proud Irish company, quality is our priority and we have carefully chosen our products to reflect this. Over time we hope to grow our range to suit all our customer’s needs. We came up with the idea of AtlasFit over lockdown, hoping to provide customers with a fitness pack that will cater to all their needs in one place. Stemming from this idea, we wanted to get talking about mental health and contributing to local charities that promote positive mental help. We feel that positive mental health and exercise go hand in hand.”
