Four local areas of Donegal have such high Covid-19 rates that they are among the 10 highest in Ireland.
Milford is the worst-affected area in the country again this week. The 14-day incidence rate in the region is 1,038.4 cases per 100,000 of the population – two and a half times the national average.
New tables list Letterkenny, Lifford-Stranorlar and Carndonagh all among the ten highest Covid-19 incidence rates this past fortnight.
Despite this, new case numbers have decreased in six of Donegal’s seven local electoral areas.
North Inishowen/Carndonagh was the only area to have an increase in cases in the two weeks up to Monday.
Meanwhile, the HSE has closed down a pop-up testing centre in Buncrana, leaving Letterkenny and Donegal Town as the only areas with public testing facilities in Donegal.
