Met Eireann has issued a weather advisory notice today in preparation for a spell of very wet weather later this week.
There is a risk of flooding as downpours are expected to hit the west coast on Thursday and Friday.
“A band of rain is approaching from the Atlantic and is forecast to stall over the western half of the country on Thursday and Friday, leading to persistent and heavy falls in places,” forecasters said.
“This may result in some river flooding as well as localised surface flooding.”
