An investigation is underway into an alleged assault of a Guard in the Twin Towns.
The incident took place in the centre of Ballybofey in the early hours of Sunday, September 26.
Donegal Daily understands the Guard received minor injuries after being called to deal with a disturbance at a local bar.
A spokesperson for the Garda Press Office also confirmed there were a number of unrelated incidents involving public order and assault offences on the morning in question.
“There were two other incidents resulting in allegations of assault, including assault on a Garda Member. Both incidents are currently under investigation,” the spokesperson said.
One person was arrested in relation to the public order incident and received an Adult Caution.
