A group of young Letterkenny students have thrown their weight behind today’s MICA march to Dublin as part of their Leaving Certificate course.

The nine students from Loreto Letterkenny are all members of the Transition Year Young Social Innovators Class.

The girls decided they could not stand by a watch as thousands of their fellow Donegal people traveled to Dublin for today’s 100% Redress Rally.

The pupils include Jennifer Chudley, Jessica Keys, Ellie Mae Canning, Alexandra O’Donnell, Sophie Fitzsimons, Áine Richardson, Leah Patton and Hazel McCabe.

The students have even come up with their own campaign logo entitled ‘No Place Like Home.’

The group’s spokesperson Jennifer Chudley revealed that some of their group are even directly effected by the MICA scandal.

She said “Yes it will be a long day but we thought we couldn’t stand by and watch when so many families are suffering across Donegal.

“We feel that all these people are entitled to 100% redress right to to getting the money for new curtains and wallpaper.

“The Government, builders and the companies behind these blocks know for a long time what has been going on.

“Now is the time to let them know that 100% and nothing less is what these people need.”
