Former celebrity chef, Conrad Gallagher, has lashed out at the Irish media for reporting on his past failures.
The Letterkenny native recently launched two new businesses in South Africa.
The new ventures come after Gallagher (50) moved around the US, Ireland and South Africa, with a string of his restaurants closing with bad debts.
This week he accused some sections of the Irish media of launching ‘poison venom’ attacks against him.
He posted on his Twitter account: “Running a successful business for over seven years, over 120 full time employees working directly and 380 indirectly, through Covid and with some of the roughest ever trading periods for hospitality. Nice to see the Irish media are never far away with their knives and poison venom attacks.”
Speaking about Bistro Vin De Boeuf in St Francis Bay, Eastern Cape, South Africa, he said: “The countdown has officially begun!
“This week Bistrovindeboeuf is teeming with excitement as tables get set, the bar is being stocked with only the finest wines and our team of servers, hosts and chefs begin setting the wheels in motion for our first service.
“Are you as excited as I am? Reservations now open for Mid-October!”
The launch comes after Gallagher recently opened Off the Menu Food Emporium in St Francis Bay, a delicatessen, coffee and wine shop serving tapas-style meals.
He also owns Food Concepts 360, a consultancy for the hotel and restaurant industry with clients across the Middle East, Africa and the US.
