Accountant Online, Ireland’s largest online accountancy firm, is to triple its workforce with 100 new jobs over the next four years.
The skilled positions will be in the accountancy and technology fields with ancillary staff also being hired to bring the total workforce to 150 by early 2026.
The Donegal company, which was one of the first in the country to use a remote working model prior to the pandemic, offers all staff the opportunity to work remotely.
Accountant Online currently has 51 employees at its offices in Letterkenny, Derry and Dublin as well as remotely across the island of Ireland and overseas.
Accountant Online offers financial and business services to companies mainly in the tech, software and consulting sectors.
The company’s online model has broken the mould in the accountancy field and using the latest technologies has allowed Accountant Online to lead the way in the global move towards the digitalisation of professional services.
Established in 2015 by current CEO Larissa Feeney, it now has over 2,000 clients and has won numerous awards including Practice of the Year 2020 in the Irish Accountancy Awards.
The company is also announcing today that it is exceeding its growth predictions achieving a 45% increase in turnover during the Covid-19 pandemic as companies realised the benefits of using online accountants.
It showed turnover of €2.1m in its latest financial year (to its year end in March 2021) and is on track to achieve turnover of €3m this year (to March 2022). Accountant Online is predicting turnover of €10m by its year end in 2026.
As well as sector growth in its client base, a number of factors are driving Accountant Online’s expansion. This includes a growing confidence by Irish business owners in conducting business wholly online rather than using local high street accountancy firms. This digital transformation across business is happening globally and has resulted in companies moving towards using online professional services.
Accountant Online invests heavily in technology and this use of cutting-edge technologies has allowed it to capture the desire for businesses to move more of its services online.
The company also uses automation and AI to systemise processes allowing its team to spend more time working strategically with its clients.
