The talented designers of LYIT’s Fashion with Promotion degree are set to feature on RTE’s Nationwide this Friday.

The programme will celebrate the edgy end of year fashion showcase staged by the students in June.

The fashion event entitled “Fashion: Confined yet not restricted” featured the diverse work of 12 graduating designers from the BA(Hons) and BA Fashion with Promotion degree.  The graduate collections were created at home through lockdown confinement, but they certainly were not creatively restricted.

Friday’s Nationwide show (airing at 7pm) will meet some of the up-and-coming graduates who are plotting their entry to the scene after college.

Eilish Kennedy, Fashion Lecturer, said: “It’s fantastic that the work of our fashion graduates has been recognised for leading the way with sustainable and innovative design and to get national coverage this week.”

Lecturer Sharon Maxwell added: “I’m so proud of what all the fashion students have achieved, from fundraising, making their collections and the determination to make something great happen in such difficult circumstances.”
