3,726 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Ireland today, marking the highest single-day jump since mid-January.
The Department of Health says that there are now 493 Covid-19 patients in hospitals – down from 515 yesterday. Of those, 90 people are receiving treatment in intensive care settings – down one from yesterday’s figures.
There were 21 Covid-19 patients recorded at Letterkenny University Hospital on 1st November – down from 21 the previous day. As of 8pm last night, there are four confirmed Covid-19 patients in ICU at the hospital.
The rollout of Covid-19 booster vaccines for healthcare workers will begin “this weekend or very early next week”, according to Health Minister Stephen Donnelly.
