Several fines were handed down by the Buncrana Roads Policing Unit over the weekend.
Garda speedchecks detected motorists breaking the speed limit in various areas of the district.
In one incident, a motorist was doing 139km/hr, while other high speeds included 128km/hr and 126 km/hr.
Other detections in the Burnfoot area on Sunday included 103km/hr and 102km/hr in an 80km zone.
The motorists caught breaking the limit have been issued with €80 fines and will each receive 3 penalty points.
A garda spokesperson said: “Keep an eye on the speed at which you are travelling at all times and ensure that you are travelling within the legal speed limit. Please make road safety a priority and help save lives.”
