Gardai have issued a warning to homeowners after NINE burglaries in various towns across Donegal in recent days.
A large quantity of cash, jewelery, clothing and electrical goods were stolen in the raids.
Force was used in ALL of the raids to enter the houses.
The burglaries took place in house in Letterkenny, Donegal Town, Ballyshannon and Bundoran.
Three houses on the same estate were burgled in Bundoran.
Gardai have appealed for anybody with any information on the raids or who may have been offered items for sale to contact them.
Garda Sergeant Niall Maguire from Milford Garda Station appealed to residents to take all necessary precautions when away form their homes for any period of time.
“We have been badly hit by a number of burglaries taking place across the county this week.
“We would appeal to people to take all the necessary precautions to keep burglars away from their property.
“This includes making sure all doors and windows are locked, that people leave on lights if out, leave on outside lights and not to keep large amounts of cash in their homes.
“We would ask people also to picture and record items of value such as jewelery in the event that they are taken,” he said.
Sgt Maguire said there had no evidence to say that the burglaries are connected in any way.
However, he noted that force was used to break into all the homes targeted in the raids.
“We would ask anybody who may heard anybody during these break-ins to contact us,” he added.
