14-year-old becomes youngest to die of Covid in Ireland

A 14-year-old has died after testing positive for Covid-19.

The teenager is the youngest person to die in Ireland with the virus.

The Health Protection Surveillance Centre did not report where in the country the teen was from.

The case is recorded in the latest coronavirus deaths report for the week to 9 November last.

Before now, the youngest person to die due to Covid-19 here was 17 and the oldest was 105.
