Planning permission has been granted for a new multi-million euro lifeboat station on Arranmore Island.

Donegal County Council has given the green light to the RNLI for the demolition of the old facility to make way for two-storey development on the same site at Poolawaddy.

The new development will include two boat sheds, a workshop and a training room.
