THE FAMILY of a young man who lost his life in a car accident are hosting an event this weekend to raise funds for charity in his honour.
Jamie Bonner was 19 years old when he was killed in a two-car collision between Creeslough and Portnablagh on September 1st 2020.
The young Dungloe man was the 8th person to die on the roads in Donegal in 2020. Sadly, the second victim of the crash, Michael McGinley from Creeslough, passed away four weeks later.
In memory of Jamie, his family are hosting a modified car and vintage car show on Sunday November 21 to mark World Remembrance Day For Road Victims.
Two very worthy charities will benefit from funds raised on the day: Gemma’s Legacy of Hope, which provides a counselling service in Dungloe, and Hugh’s House in Dublin, which is a home from home for families whose children are patients in hospitals in Dublin. Hugh’s House is a place very important to Jamie’s auntie Laura and uncle Ethan when their girl was born 13 weeks premature in 2019.
A raffle will be held on the day of the show, with some amazing prizes up for grabs which were kindly donated by members of the local community.
