DONEGAL currently has Ireland’s lowest Covid-19 incidence rate, new figures show.
The 7-day rate in Donegal is now 459.8 per 100,000 – the lowest of the 26 counties.
A total of 732 new cases of the virus were notified in Donegal in the week up to 18th November.
North Inishowen/Carndonagh remains the Covid-19 hotspot of the county, where the 14-day incidence rate is the second highest in Ireland. 335 people were diagnosed in the area in the past two weeks up to Monday.
The HPSC reports that the national seven-day incidence rate is 605.6 per 100,000.
Another 3,138 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed by Irish health officials today.
The Department of Health says that there are now 643 COVID-19 patients are hospitalised, of whom 118 are in ICU.
There were 18 Covid-19 patients recorded at Letterkenny University Hospital last night – up from 17 the previous day. As of 8pm last night, there are two confirmed Covid-19 patients in ICU at the hospital.
