Donegal Minister Charlie McConalogue has said he expects the Mica Redress scheme will deliver the necessary 100% support to affected homeowners.
“I absolutely believe that it needs to be 100% and that’s what I’m working with Minister O’Brien to achieve and I’m very confident that we will get a scheme which will achieve that,” Minister McConalogue told Newstalk FM on Sunday.
The Fianna Fáil Minister said that engagement is continuing on the details of the scheme, but it is his objective to ensure homeowners get 100% support.
“Anything short of that isn’t what I believe will be the outcome here.”
Is it not yet known when the scheme will be brought before Cabinet, following several weeks of delays as engagement continues on finalising the details. He said that the expects the plan to come to Cabinet “very soon”.
