Construction on Letterkenny’s new 110 bed Community Hospital is expected to begin towards the end of 2022.
Councillor Ciaran Brogan was updated on progress of the hospital at today’s meeting of the Regional Health Forum.

He was told the hospital consisting of long and short stay bed spaces, as well as a dedicated rehabilitation unit, is currently at detail design stage.
It is scheduled to issue for tender in the first quarter of 2022 and, subject to funding, with construction expected to commence in the third quarter of 2022.
John Hayes of the HSE said there was no concerns over the development of the proposed facility but stressed that all was dependant on the capital plan.
Councillor Brogan was told that the Letterkenny facility was as secure as any other planned project.
