Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow wind warning for Donegal tomorrow (Friday).
Snowfall is also forecast for the northwest tomorrow.
From 3pm Friday afternoon, the north and northwest coast will see high winds, reaching mean speeds in excess of 50km/h with gusts in excess of 90km/h.
The weather alert is valid from 3pm Friday until 6pm Saturday morning. However, the windy conditions will kick off from tonight. Met Eireann is warning of gales on north and northwest coasts. It will be coldest early in the night, with minimum temperatures of 1 to 5 degrees.
Tomorrow will be “windy with fresh to strong and gusty west to northwest winds, increasing strong to near gale force later. There will also be gales around the coast. There will be sunny spells and frequent blustery showers and some of the showers will turn to sleet, with snow possible on high ground. Temperatures in the early afternoon will be around 4 to 7 degrees but it will get colder through the afternoon.”
