Popular Letterkenny nightclub Pulse have announced they are closing down temporarily due to the current Covid-19 restrictions.

The venue has put up a post on their Facebook page stating that current restrictions are making it “impossible to operate’.

The venue was due to host a teenage disco tonight with hundreds of tickets already sold for the event.

Since Thursday last week, pubs, nightclubs and restaurants are again forced to close at midnight, making it especially difficult for nightclubs to stay open.

The club said it regrets that it has beewn left with no option but to close.

“To our customers, staff, suppliers, artists, neighbours, and friends.

“We regret to announce the ‘temporary’ closure of Pulse Venue. We have defined the odds, changed with the times, presented world class entertainment with global artists, met amazing people and staff along the way.

“The current restrictions make it impossible to operate. We have no option but to again close our doors.

“With a heavy heart we turn the key and wait for our government to make decisions outside of our control. We will not bow out because this is not what we are about. The door may be closed but we are waiting to share our passion once again.

“Keep safe everyone. Special thank you to all our customers. Pulse Venue Letterkenny.”

With rising cases and the new variant in southern Africa, there is speculation of further restrictions being imposed in coming weeks.
