A cunning Donegal man last night won more than €62,000, on a 50 cent bet!

The local man placed the tiny wager, in Ladbrokes’ Carndonagh branch, on predicting five of the winning numbers in Saturday’s Lotto draw.

A spokesperson for the betting shop confirmed the big win to Donegal Daily.

“Indeed, it was a local and he often does the Lotto bets in the shop,” they said.

“This time he hit the jackpot, predicting the 5 numbers in the Irish lotto and netting a cool €62,500 for a 50 cent stake. We are delighted to have a local winner and we are sure he will have a wonderful Christmas.”

Incidentally, a lucky Lotto player in Donegal won a cool €457,000 in last night’s draw.

They were one of two players, the other from Clare, to share the Match 5 + Bonus prize pool worth a combined €914,160.

The Donegal winner picked their own numbers on a Normal Play selection on Thursday, 25th November, at Kernan’s Spar store in Ballyshannon.
