Donegal players Amber Barrett, Ciara Grant and Roma McLaughlin all made second half appearances as Ireland thumped Georgia 11-0 in this evening’s World Cup qualifier.

Barrett even managed to find the back of the net for Ireland’s record-breaking tenth goal at Tallaght Stadium.

The win pushes Ireland into second place behind runaway leaders Sweden.

All three Donegal players had good contributions during their time on the pitch as Vera Pauw’s side ran riot.

Milford woman Barrett’s strike and enthusiastic celebration was welcomed by the Irish boss on what proved a one-sided affair against the minnows of the group.

Denise O’Sullivan grabbed a hat-trick while captain fantastic Katie McCabe put in another stunning performance and grabbed two goals.

Republic of Ireland: Courtney Brosnan; Niamh Fahey, Louise Quinn, Diane Caldwell; Jess Ziu (Amber Barrett 75), Katie McCabe, Ruesha Littlejohn (Ciara Grant 67), Megan Connolly, Denise O’Sullivan; Lucy Quinn (Roma McLaughlin 67), Kyra Carusa (Saoirse Noonan 75).
