Specsavers staff in Donegal will host a fundraising day this Saturday 4th December to raise funds for the Hope foundation.
Staff in Letterkenny and Donegal Town will be wearing Christmas jumpers and getting into the festive mood, and customers can buy special Butlers Irish chocolate bars with all proceeds going to the Hope Foundation.
Santa will be visiting the Letterkenny store between 11am and 1.30pm too.
Since 2018, Specsavers Ireland have helped the Hope Foundation treat over 20,000 disadvantaged adults and children and dispensed over 11,000 pairs of glasses.
They give €45,000 annually to cover the cost of running the Hope Hospital’s eyecare clinic in Kolkata and are funding eight students for whom college education was never an option, through optometry college.
Whilst their opticians can’t visit this year due to the Covid restrictions, the good work in Kolkata goes on and we will continue to send much needed funds to keep the eye clinic running out there.
