Centra Moville has joined forces with the SEAI (Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland) to lead the way on environmental change.

The Co. Donegal store have installed 143 solar panels, the results of which is the energy equivalent of powering 11 houses per year.

This, alongside previous energy upgrades in the store amount to 44,388 KWH of energy saved per year, a 50% energy reduction for the store.

Gerry Doherty of Centra Moville said “We were delighted to receive this funding from the SEAI. Not only is it great to see a reduction in our energy bills, but it also makes a positive impact on the world around us. As a business, we know it is important to do what we can to make small changes that will have a big impact. Installing the solar panels is the next step in our ongoing efforts to make our store as we work towards more sustainable planet for future generations.”

For the 10th consecutive year, Centra stores identified and upgrade areas of their own operations which can be made more energy efficient through their ‘Building Sustainable Communities’ initiative, in keeping with their priority to deliver high standards of energy efficiency and encourage renewable energy usage.
