Mapping Covid: Donegal below average with 1,700 new cases in two weeks

Donegal recorded 1,740 new cases of Covid-19 in the past 14 days, new figures show.

As of Tuesday, the 14-day incidence rate in the county is 1,094.9 per 100,000, which was below the national average of 1320.3 per 100,000.

On a local level, incidence rates are up in four of Donegal’s seven local electoral areas (LEAs).

In the past fortnight, case numbers have increased in Letterkenny, Lifford-Stranorlar, North and South Inishowen (Buncrana and Carndonagh). North Inishowen was the only area with an incidence rate above the national average this fortnight.

The three areas with improving rates were Milford, Glenties and Donegal.
