The Donegal-Galway cancer bus will stay on the road for another year thanks to a generous Donegal man’s fundraiser.
Billy Bustard from Donegal Town recently decided to put a restored 59-year-old Massey Ferguson 35 up for raffle to support the Good and New Cancer Charity. The charity provides a much-valued free service for many cancer patients in Donegal who must travel to Galway for treatment.
Billy put his all into restoring a Massey to full-spec, all with the aim of raising as much funds as possible to help keep the service running after a difficult year.
And that goal was fulfilled when Billy’s raffle total reached an incredible €30,000.
Aoife Gallagher from Ardara was the lucky winner of the tractor. She was presented with the keys and log book last week.
Aoife hopes to use the tractor for getting to work in Little Mamma’s, Donegal Town!
